The electric power steering system is only assisted by the motor when steering, and does not consume energy when not steering. 2. （EPS machine)The size of steering power can be adjusted by software, which can give consideration to the steering portability at low speed and handling stability at high speed, and has good centering performance. The steering power provided by the traditional hydraulic power steering system can not change with the increase of vehicle speed. In this way, although the vehicle has good steering portability at low speed, the steering wheel is too light at high speed, resulting in the phenomenon of steering "floating", and the driver lacks a significant "road feeling", which reduces the vehicle stability and driver's sense of safety at high speed.

The power assistance provided by the electric power steering system can be easily adjusted by software. At low speed, the electric power steering system can provide greater steering power and provide vehicle steering portability; With the increase of vehicle speed, the steering power provided by the electric power steering system can be gradually reduced, and the steering force required by the driver during steering will gradually increase, so that the driver will feel an obvious "road feeling" and improve the vehicle stability.

The electric power steering system can also apply a certain additional righting torque or damping torque, so that the steering wheel can accurately return to the middle position at low speed, inhibit the oscillation and overshoot of the steering wheel during high-speed righting, and take into account the righting performance of the vehicle at high and low speed.
